While the world is in isolation, it can be hard to cope without your loved ones. Show a loved one you're thinking about them or help them celebrate their birthday by sending them one of these postal gifts! Postal gifts are a great way to treat the people you love without leaving your home. There are so many things that can be sent out to brighten someone's day. Here are some of my favourite letterbox gift ideas! You could even try making some yourself!

Pink present with a golden bow. There are fairy lights and baubles around the gifts

What Is A Letterbox Gift?

Letterbox gifts are gifts that fit through the letterbox. It means you don't have to race to the door when the bell goes. It also means you don't have to have contact with any of the drivers. Letterbox gifts are ideal for those who can't quickly get to the door or are shielding. While drivers tend to walk away from the parcel, it means you don't have to open the door anyway. It's also nice to have a surprise come through the letterbox, rather than having to make sure your loved one is at home. Most of us aren't going out at the moment, but the post always seems to come when you're about to get your weekly shop! They're a fun gift idea, perfect for any upcoming celebration you have!

Postal Flowers

There are several different postal flower companies, such as Bunches and Bloom and Wild, which I love to use. They all offer beautiful bouquets at a range of different prices. Make sure you select the letterbox option as some bouquets are sent with vases. The flowers are posted in small, flat boxes, so the door doesn't even need to be opened! The letterbox flowers are in bud, so they may look a little tired when you see them. Don't worry, they blossom really quickly, so you can enjoy your flowers within a few days! That being said, consider sending them a few days before your celebration so that they're open on the big day. Flowers are a great wat to cheer up a person you love. They also make a lovely Mothers day gift if you're not able to see your mum!

Personally, I love Bloom and Wild. They're a go-to in my household! Their delivery is fast, and we haven't had an issue with their flowers, even in lockdown! I also recommend Bloom & Wild as you can add a cute card to your order. There are sent with recyclable protection, and you can even add some chocolates! Bunches is also a lovely brand as it gives you a little packet of seeds to grow something beautiful!

Personalised Chocolates

Everyone loves chocolate, and there is so many UK business that creates personalised chocolate gifts. Cocoapod offers a gorgeous selection of chocolates that can be customised to the recipient. They have a range of different chocolate box sizes, so you can find one for your budget. There are a few other chocolate companies that I have really enjoyed shopping with, but try and stick to independent sellers. They're the ones that could really do with the help! There are lots of letterbox chocolate sellers on Etsy and Notonthehighstreet. Each one offers a different type of letterbox treat!

If your loved one isn't a fan of chocolate, there are also pick 'n' mix boxes! Pick 'n' mix boxes are filled with different types of sweets, similar to the little cups you'd get at Wilko. Some small brands also offer retro sweets for those who like it old school. I've even seen ones who create boxes with a selection of limited edition or foreign candy. If you want a gift that will keep on giving, you can get these boxes as a subscription!

Cake in a Card

Is a birthday coming up, or you just know a cake lover? Cake cards or postal cakes are the perfect way to combine two celebration must-haves. No special day is complete without cake and cards! Sponge and Postcake are my favourite UK based businesses that offer services like this. They have a range of different cakes on offer, including vegan and gluten-free options. There's no excuse to eat cake when it tastes so good and is delivered straight to your door!

I like using postal cake services as everything is done for you. You can choose what sort of card you want to send, the message and personalise the cake. We sent one to my Grandma for her birthday and she loved the her-sized cake! Who says lockdown means you can't eat cake with your family?

Personalised Photo Gift

There are so many businesses who offer personalised photo gifts which make the best present for anyone. You could be buying a photo card from Moonpig and writing a heartfelt message inside or buying a photo book from Snapfish or Photobox! There are so many different personalised gifts you can get to brighten someone's day! Some of the most creative gifts I've seen include blankets and scrapbooks. These both would fit through a letterbox.

On Groupon, there are lots of deals for photo-related gifts. Groupon is ideal for those who are struggling with work at the moment. Times are tough, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to treat your loved ones! Photo gifts are a great way to share memories, especially those who have lost holidays and trips out. You can even purchase a card for a lockdown birthday! If you want to make it even more personal, you could buy a scrapbook and create your own gift!

Anxiety Relief

Life can be stressful, and we all deal with things differently. For those who are anxious, a box that relieves stress and anxiety may be beneficial. Care packages are a great gift idea for those who are struggling with the lockdown. Everyone deserves a bit of self-care in their life. Etsy is full of self-care boxes for every type of person. If you can't find one for your loved one, you could always make one yourself! Facemasks, chocolate and stationary all make for a great gift idea!

There are lots of boxes that contain "healing" tools like stones, perfect for spiritual people. Others may include comforting treats like chocolate and facemasks. Caremail offers a self-care gardening box, which is great for a green thumb or getting people outdoors. Self-care is a personal thing, so try to customise your gift as best you can for your loved one. You could always contact the small business to see if they offer any swaps!

Pizza Party

If you're missing your friends and fancy a pizza party, you can order them their favourite pizza! Hop on FaceTime, Skype, Zoom or any other video chatting site to have a long-distance dinner party. This idea works for any sort of takeaway or dinner that you may cook at home. It isn't the same as having dinner with your loved ones, but it is the next best thing! Having dinner together is a great way to keep in touch, have a laugh and spend time with people! The best thing is, you don't all have to order the same food, so it's unique to your tastes!

Sending a Bear Hug

My last idea for keeping up spirits is to send your family a BearHugs Gift. These are adorable little boxes that each have their own themes. There is a range of different gifts, including ones for new parents, ones containing stationary, and even one with a cupcake! Bearhugs are cute blue boxes that open out with little bear arms. Even though we can't hug at the moment, it's almost like you're giving someone a hug.

When you purchase a BearHugs Gift, you support small business and people with chronic illnesses! For every 50 boxes sold, BearHug helps one of their charity partners. There is a lot more information on their website, but they're a lovely small business to consider purchasing from. There is so much on offer, and every order I've made has gone smoothly. There really is something for everyone!

A bouquet of pink and white flowers in a vase. This would make a great gift idea, especially for women!

Treating others doesn't have to cost a lot, but the thought will make their day. Lots of people are struggling, and acts of kindness can make it a whole lot better. Even just a text message can make a lot of difference. What is your favourite gift idea? I'd love to hear how you're treating your loved ones and looking after them! Don't forget to support local businesses where you can!
