New Lotus Biscoff - Biscoff Creams Review!

by - 10:09

If you have walked past the biscuit aisle lately, then you might have spotted Biscoff's latest edition; Biscoff creams. As a Biscoff and biscuit fan, I had to pick them up to try! Did you know, they are secretly vegan too?

Biscoff is following in the lines of Oreo and Mcvitties and has launched its own biscuit sandwich. It features two of their famous biscuits with a dollop of Biscoff spread in the middle. They are only available in Tesco but are priced at £1.39 for 15 biscuits. There is a rumour that these biscuits may be available in vanilla and milk chocolate cream flavours, but they aren't currently available in the UK.

I was excited to try these as I am a Biscoff fan. I love the spread, and there is nothing comparable to that caramelised flavour. Looking at them, these are a decent size. They resemble the classic Oreo, which is also vegan. They are a beautiful caramel colour and smell amazing. It was clear that there was a lot more crunchy biscuit than cream, so it will be interesting to see how it tastes.

I loved these biscuits! It is everything you expect it to be; a delicious crunchy caramel biscuit filled with a smooth creamy centre. As suspected, there was more biscuit than cream. I would have preferred more filling. The biscuit was thicker than a normal Biscoff which made it drier. The extra cream would have balanced it out better. I also really enjoy the Biscoff filling so I would never say no to extra!

The biscuit is the perfect tea dunking biscuit. It was wonderfully crunchy. I decided to leave some biscuits out to soften as this gives you a whole new experience. It is easier on your teeth, and soft Biscoff is amazing. I recommend you try it on any Biscoff biscuit.

The taste is how you would expect. It wasn't sickly but incredibly moreish. The flavour of the centre was the same as the biscuit, which meant there was no variation, but it was a tasty caramel flavour, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am interested in trying the vanilla and milk chocolate ones as I think this flavour change could bring something new to the product. I enjoyed this biscuit as it was tasty, but I want something more. I would settle for more cream or just a variation in the taste.

I would buy this biscuit again as it was delicious and everything a Biscoff fan needs but, for the price and how many you get, I wonder if it would be more cost-effective to buy the spread and the biscuits separately to make your own. I would recommend the biscuit to all Biscoff lovers!

I hope the other flavours come to the UK soon as I would love to try them. Have you tried this new vegan sandwich biscuit? Let me know your thoughts!

P.s ~ Please don't rush out to get these. Be sensible, add them into your weekly shop. Biscuits are not worth your health. Stay safe xxx

  7. I love me some Biscoffs but they're so rare in my area. The thought of licking the computer screen almost crossed my mind. I prefer my Biscoffs with some coffee, I can't wait to try the new ones.

  9. The first time I had Biscoff was on my first plane trip; I tried the cheese chips the first time and the biscuits the second time the snack cart came round, and I loved them. Not quite a traditional biscuit, Biscoff has a crunchy, not-too-sweet flavor so I hope I get to try these creams soon!
