I have a massive sweet tooth. It is a well-known fact, and I am always looking for new treats to fulfil that craving. Today, I am going to be baking using Cookies Crumbles' sunny oat and raisin cookie mix!

Last week, I posted an interview with Carola, the wonderful mind behind Cookie Crumbles, so make sure you check that post out to learn more about this fantastic company! I have been very kindly gifted 2 baking mixes to try out! I decided to bake the oat cookies first as this is one of my favourite flavoured cookies (yes, I am that strange person!)

The sunny oat and raisin cookie mix is a 380g pre-made mix which you can purchase for £3.99 on their website or in various stores across the UK including Ocado! Each packet makes 16-18 cookies. (please note, the box says it makes 6-8 cookies, but I can confirm this is just an incorrect printing)

All you need for this mix is one egg and 125g of butter. The baking process was more than easy. It was a case of melting the butter, mixing it with the egg & mix then baking! I managed to fit 12 decent sized cookies out of the mix. I thought that my cookies were of a good size and that 16-18 may have made them too small. I left them quite rugged, so they came out unique. I found that they didn't spread a whole lot when baking so make sure you're happy with the shape!

The baking time only took 10 minutes for my cookies. They came out rather soft but golden around the edges, and they hardened up quite nicely. The box suggests adding chocolate chips, nuts or dried bananas to the mix to ass something extra to your cookie, although I didn't try this! It might be a fun addition to do next time. I'd probably add cranberries!

I was pleased with the way my cookies came out, but even more excited for the taste test! I thought these cookies were enjoyable. There was a nice distribution of raisins, which added sweetness to the cookie, although I would have liked a few more. I found that there were sunflower seeds in this mix although, I wouldn't have realised without reading the box. I haven't found too many in any of the *4* cookies I have eaten in the duration of writing this post...

The taste of these cookies was actually really good. The cookies contain natural ingredients, and that meant that in total, only 8 ingredients go into this cookie. The cookies weren't overwhelmingly sweet so I could easily have it on the go in the morning. They were a nice snack to have and would be good to keep you going in between meals. They aren't gluten-free, but these oatmeal cookies are if you fancy a free-from treat!

I'd recommend this baking mix. It was simple to do, perfect for children, and gave a decent amount of delicious cookies to eat. There was little mess as instead of melting the butter in the pan, I used the mixing bowl in the microwave. It meant I only used 1 bowl, 1 spoon and 2 baking trays so washing up was minimal. The cookies were very enjoyable (perhaps I am biased as love oatmeal and cookies!), and I will be making them again.

This baking session was fun, and I am happy to be left with all these cookies! Have you ever used Cookie Crumbles' baking mixes? I'd love to know which one you used and what you thought of it!
