Interview With Steff From Steff's Journey!

by - 08:00

Today I am doing something different! I am going to do a collaboration post with the amazing Steff from Steff's Journey. We have decided to do an interview swap post, so make sure you read my interview over on Steff's blog! I shall leave a link down below. I hope you enjoy the interview and find out lots about this amazing blogger!

Hi guys! I’m back with a blogger interview post and this time the questions are from the lovely Em from Love Em Blog I’d just like to say thanks to Em for doing this blog post swap with me! Basically, we’re doing Blogger Interview posts, where we send each other a few questions related to blogging and then we post each others’ answers! So grab yourself a cuppa, or something else you fancy and enjoy!

Hi there! Tell me a little about yourself and your blog!

So, I’m Steff, a 37-year-old mum to three girls and fiancée to Ant. I work full-time as a school administrator in a private senior school so blogging is an added extra on top of all of that! My blog (Steff’s Journey) is a lifestyle blog where I write about a lot of different subjects including family, health, beauty, life in general and blogging tips and advice!

When did you start blogging and what inspired you to start Steff’s Journey?

I started my blog on a whim in February 2018 because I felt like my brain was getting clogged up lol! I’ve always had an amazing memory and I was beginning to feel like there wasn’t much room left upstairs. So, I decided to start a blog as a brain dumping ground to free up some space. I already had my Instagram page set up a couple of years before so I used the same handle as that. Et voila... Steff’s Journey was born!

Where do you see yourself, and your blog, being in 5 years?

In a fantasy world, I’d love to be freelancing and working from home with a successful blog! I’d love to be my own boss.. and I’m fully aware it’s not all sunshine and roses! But I’m good at being strict with myself and I’d like to think I’d be good at it too!

Realistically, I think I’ll still be working full-time but in some kind of management role in admin. I’m really enjoying my ‘new’ role as a school administrator... I’ve been there for almost a year! But I’d like to progress so hopefully I’d have moved up the ranks by then! With my blog, I think I’ll still be blogging and hopefully making a bit of an income from it but with more responsibility in my day job, I’m not sure how much time I’d be able to invest in it.

What is your favourite thing about blogging and have you had any amazing opportunities?

I think my fave thing about blogging has to be the amazing community that you’re instantly a part of! The second I joined Twitter with my blogging account I was welcomed by so many lovely bloggers who I still interact with now! Everyone is so helpful and kind, even if you’ve got a non-blogging issue they’re by your side helping you out.

Could you sum your blog up in 5 words?

I am SO rubbish at these things! But I think it would have to be: genuine, lifestyle, niche-free (I'm counting that as one lol), inviting and realistic. Told you I'm useless at these type of questions! As soon as this post is live, I'll think of better words!

If you could tell the blogging community one last thing, what would it be?

Just to go for it!! Don't worry about the numbers, about 'fitting in', about if your writing style is ok. Just do you and let the magic happen! As long as you keep learning and interacting, your blog will continue to grow. But the most important thing you can do is be authentic and that will be what makes your blog a success!

I hope you enjoyed reading our blogger post swap, don't forget to go and check out Em's answers as well!

Until next time, Steff xx
