Lyonsleaf - The Natural Way to Blemish Free Skin!

Monday, May 25, 2020

I have always had issues with my skin. I grew up with eczema all over my body, very sensitive skin and my current issues include dry skin and outbreaks. Today, I hope to have found a solution to my skin troubles! Introducing Lyonsleaf and their miracle creams!

Lyonsleaf provides cruelty-free, natural and affordable skincare products. They keep in mind even the most sensitive of skins, making their products perfect for everyone. Their range varies from barrier creams to stretchmark prevention! I have been lucky enough to try some of their products!

Calendula Cream - Bye-bye eczema!

The first product I am going to try is 100% natural Calendula Cream. Calendula cream has many benefits and is suitable for:
  • Eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and other skin conditions
  • Skin healing after surgery
  • Healing tattoos
  • Irritated skin due to nettle rash and insect bites
  • Mild acne

I decided to use this balm on my eczema. I suffer from eczema across my arms and on the inside of my legs. It can be very sore and painful at times, so I am desperate to find a solution! For £10.95, you can purchase this 30ml ointment.

I quite liked the smell of the product. It was natural, subtle and, in a way, refreshing. The product was a light orange colour. The ointment was quite oily and heavy, so I was a bit sceptical that it would irritate my skin further. I was very wrong!

I used the Calendula cream on my legs before bed. When I woke up the following morning, there was already a clear difference to what I went to bed like. The redness and stinging had gone down significantly. It hasn't irritated my sensitive skin, but instead the confidence to wear shorts. I dislike wearing shorts as people stare at the rash. I was once asked if my eczema was contagious, which damaged my confidence. Having used the cream for a week, my eczema has nearly gone. I have never seen or used a product like this before!

I highly recommend it to anyone with skin-related issues. It almost instantly relieves your skin of irritability and after only a week, has reduced a problem I have suffered with for years! I apply it twice a day, sparingly as I never want this miracle cream to run out!

Zinc & Calendula Cream - A cure for acne & breakouts?

The Zinc & Calendula Cream is slightly different to just the calendula cream. This cream is more suitable for:

  • Protecting against moisture damage
  • Nappy rash
  • Skin breakouts and acne
  • Perioral dermatitis and rosacea
  • Nettle stings and insect bites
  • Skin needing TLC

The main difference between this cream is zinc. The zinc is there to reduce excess sebum production (the stuff in spots) although this may be drying to the skin.

This 30ml ointment had more of a subtle scent than the 100% natural calendula cream. The jar still sells for £10.95. I decided to use this jar on my face to see how it would help my acne and breakouts.

I used it on my face twice a day; once when I woke up and once before bed. I washed my face before I applied as this is a barrier balm, so was worried I was going to trap more dirt in my pores. I also tried it on my sister, who has horrible breakouts across her back, to see if it would make a difference.

I was very impressed with the results for both cases. I trialled this product for a week, as did my sister so we could see just how amazing the cream was. My skin began to clear up within a week. I haven't experienced as many breakouts, despite not changing my diet etc. It would be really good for oily skin as it prevents sebum production. My sisters back was a lot clearer within a week too. I was very impressed with the results as nothing so far had worked for her. It was very soothing.

This may be just the thing acne-prone skin could benefit from. It is kind to skin and didn't irritate either of our conditions or skin. I haven't seen anything like this before and think it is worth a try for everyone suffering from acne-related issues!

Calendula & Marshmallow Balm - Healing Stretchmarks and dry skin!

The last product in the triage is the marshmallow balm. This product is suitable for:

  • Softening dry skin & gardeners/working hands
  • Hydrating facial skin & chapped lips
  • Healing skin after surgery or tattoo
  • Reducing stretchmark appearance
  • Soothing sore nipples after nursing

I like the sound of this product. Ever since lockdown, my skin has become very dry. I have never really used moisturiser religiously until now. I was excited to use this balm on my face, chapped lips and stretch marks. This 30ml ointment is also £10.95.

I have stretch marks across my hips and boobs. I get very upset about it but haven't gotten along with bio-oil in the past. I applied this twice a day, as recommended, and within the week, felt no real change. I wasn't expecting the marks to magically disappear, but I thought I would see a change, as I had while using the other products. I will continue to use the ointment and see if there is a change by the time I finish the jar, otherwise, I will not repurchase it for this issue.

As for my face, the story was different. Since lockdown has begun, my skin has been incredibly dry, especially after a shower. My lips would chap in the night too, especially I have my window open. I used the balm after a shower and almost instantly felt my skin becoming less dry and stiff. It was soothing and actually quite calming. My lips felt hydrated, and since use, haven't woken up with cracked or dry lips. This is a great alternative to a moisturiser. I wouldn't use it as my daily moisturiser, but it would be great for the occasional touch-up and for other parts of the body. I think it would be fantastic for dry hands, elbows and feet. It isn't waxy or oily and absorbed quickly, so there is minimal disruption to your day!

Apart from the stretch marks, these balms/creams are absolutely amazing. I haven't found anything so diverse before that actually ticks all the boxes and does its job. It is very effective, affordable and is natural! Lyonsleaf has really gone and made something amazing, and I think more people need to know about their brand. It could be a solution for many people. I highly recommend their products.

Thank you to Lyonsleaf for sending me these amazing products to review! I am excited to try 2 more of their products, so keep your eyes peeled! Do you have a skin condition? What have you been using to relieve the symptoms? I'd love to know what other lifesavers there are out there!

  6. I hate my stretch marks too and never found much really helped them when I used to put product on them. These sound like great products though. I get mild acne sometimes due to hormones / the pill and my boyfriend gets eczema so these would definitely get a lot of use!

    Hey! =)
Love this post and am so pleased to read you're still on track for your savings goal despite life getting in the way! During lockdown I've actually noticed how much I usually spend on shit I don't even need yet always believe I do at the time! Why I don't know!! Hopefully when normal life resumes I'll remember this and actually start to save the money I would usually spend!
Either way, it's been great for my bank account! xo
