AD - This post has sponsored links but all opinions are my own

Having been stuck inside for the last few years, the last thing many of us want to do is stay inside this summer. The lockdowns can affect your wellness and mental health dramatically. It can be hard to know what to do to improve your mental health! Summer is a time for happiness and enjoyment, so here are some ways to enhance your wellness at home and enjoy your summer! These little ways are great for improving your well-being and mindset!

What is Wellness?

Wellness means the absence of illness and the optimisation of wellbeing. It means that you're in a healthy balance with your mind and body. It is important to look after your wellness and wellbeing, especially having come out of a lockdown. The pandemic is still going, but we deserve to look after ourselves! For many people, the lockdowns have been mentally and emotionally challenging. I liked being at home, and the easing restrictions have caused me a lot of anxiety. There are many things you can do to ensure your happiness and look after your wellness at home. It's about listening to your body and taking things at your own pace. If you're not feeling up for something, take a break and avoid overworking yourself.

Spend Quality Family Time

Having family or friends around you can lift your mood dramatically and improve your wellness. I am not a social butterfly, but I love spending time with my family and a small group of friends. Since the lockdown, I have become closer with my boyfriend and his family. It's nice to diversify who you spend time with. It's also important to reconnect with those you miss. No, I'm not talking about your ex. I mean that best friend you just grew apart from or a family member you haven't spoken to in a while.

There are so many ways to spend quality time with your family. You could be baking banana bread or spending time at the beach together. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you cherish these moments and enjoy yourself! Personally, I love having a little self-care evening with my partner. We use the PMD clean to exfoliate our skin and sit with a film and face masks! If I've baked something, we enjoy a sweet treat with our film night too!

Do Something For Your Health

We all want a summer glow up, but sometimes it's not practical. It can also put a lot of pressure on us! This summer, you can improve your well-being by doing something for your health! If you're feeling hair conscious, why not try Picasso Scalp Micropigmentation. If you don't like your teeth, why not start your Invisalign programme? There are little things you can do for your health that you might not think about during the year. Even if you buy a gym membership or take a class, you're helping your mindset improve. You can find most of these things local to you, so you don't have to go far to improve something you'd like. For example, there is scalp micropigmentation in Los Angeles! Remember, you don't have to change for anyone but yourself. I am for people doing things that will make them feel better and more confident. I had braces, and I've never been so happy to have had them now that my smile is straight and perfect for summer photos!

Embrace Nature

One of the best ways to improve your wellness this summer is to get outside. Getting outdoors can improve your health immensely, even if you're just sitting in the garden. The weather has been gorgeous recently, so I've had the windows open too! I love working outside on my laptop. It is not only refreshing but increases my productivity. I'd recommend setting up a workstation or having a cover to avoid screen glare. Otherwise, It's relaxing to work in a new environment that isn't your bedroom or home office!

There are lots of health benefits, both physical and mental, from being outside. Being outside can help you to improve your productivity and can give you inspiration. It may even improve your memory and creativity. If you're looking for health benefits, being outside can help injuries heal faster while also giving you vitamin D.  Nature work wonders for the mind. Don't put off going into the garden and exploring nature!

Keep A Routine

A schedule is a great way to maintain a routine and ensure that you're achieving your goals daily. Setting yourself a routine at home can be beneficial to your wellbeing as it stops you from lounging around in PJs all day. There is NOTHING wrong with having a lazy day, but when you're laying around daily, it can start to impact your wellbeing and physical health. It also stops you getting things done, so your to-do list ends up growing! Even going to bed and waking up at the same time can help your mood and keep a touch of reality. Try getting dressed before working or having set meals to help you find a healthy balance. Your daily routine doesn't need to be special, but it does need to include must-do tasks and a little bit of self-care!

Get Moving!

If you're like me, you've been sat at your laptop for the past few months binging Netflix shows or blogging. That is great, we all deserve some time to relax, but it isn't good to be sat for so long. Get moving! You'd be surprised at what taking a walk or working out will do for your mind and wellness. It is great for your body and physical health too. Doing exercise is a great way to enhance your wellness because it balances your mind and body in just minutes. Exercise can get you ready for the day, increase productivity and helps your physical health in many ways. It is so important for your health.

Stay Hydrated & Eat Well

Drinking water is something you should do every day. Your body must have enough water to survive, and many of us don't drink enough daily. There are so many benefits to drinking water, including increasing your productivity, revitalising your skin and aids in digestion. Eating good food can also improve your wellness and balance. Food tends to be a comfort point for many people. While this is good, it can lead to binging when times get tough. I'm not saying you have can't have sweet treats. Eating well means having a healthy, balanced diet. Having a good diet can help you lose weight which increases body confidence and helps you sleep better. These are all important factors for enhancing your wellness. Food is also a great way to bond with your family, especially when you have meals together.

Just Relax

Holiday's may be off the menu this year, but it doesn't mean you won't be able to relax. There are so many ways you can put your feet up and enjoy your summer. One of my favourite ways to relax is on the beach, but if you're not up for battling the crowds for a spot, a hot tub is the next best thing! Relaxation and self-care are important for your wellness because it relieves stress and anxiety. Look after yourself, and take it slow. It has been a rough year, and we all deserve a little TLC!
