A Guide To Manifestation & Law Of Attraction

We all have goals and dreams, and we grow up with an idealistic vision of how we want our lives to be when we are older. But, the mundane of everyday life gets in the way as we work tirelessly to keep food on the table, to keep the lights on, and to keep clothes on our backs. And on top of this, we try to achieve some semblance of a social life and attempt to keep up with the Jones’ as we think this will make us happy.

With so much going on, we soon lose sight of our purpose - and of what we really want to achieve. But, no matter how old you are, it is possible to change your life and reach for something more. While it’s true that hard work goes an awful long way to achieving goals, there’s never any shame in having a little help to get to where you want to be. And that help can come from those around us or from the Universe itself.

In this guide, we’ll explore how you can use your energy to tap into the Universe with the Law of Attraction. We will look at the art of manifestation and how to get the support you need on your journey to a happier life.

What is the Law of Attraction?

The Law of Attraction, as a written concept, was coined by Helena Blavatsky in 1877. But its roots pre-date Blavatsky’s references, and the ideology can be traced back to early Eastern teachings. 

Just take Buddha’s quote as an example of this - “All that we are is a result of what we have thought.” It’s a notion humans have been aware of for quite some time in most cultures and religions. So, what is the Law of Attraction exactly? Well, it’s a philosophical concept under which the order of the Universe is determined. In simpler terms, the things that come into our life are a direct result of our thoughts. If we think positive thoughts, positive things will come our way - and vice versa. Again, we can see this represented in Buddha’s wise words when he said that every human being is the author of his own health or disease.

The notion that we can control our health with our thoughts is amazing. And while it may seem impossible, the truth is that the human mind is a powerful thing. It’s something we (including scientists) still don’t fully understand. Just picture your thoughts as magnets, pulling towards you the concepts you’ve put out into the Universe - whether good or bad. And with positive thinking, just imagine what you could achieve. The Law of Attraction is growing in popularity, with celebrities like Jim Carrey, Lady Gaga, Will Smith, and Oprah Winfrey citing manifestation as the source of their success.

What Is Manifestation? 

Manifestation, the process of turning something from an idea into a reality, is based upon the Law of Attraction and similar concepts like the New Thought spiritual movement. It’s another method of thinking positively to attract good things into your life.

It isn’t quite as simple as just asking for something and expecting it to turn up. You have to invest positive energy into manifestation, and you need to believe it will work. Start the process by asking or thinking about what you want to achieve.

Practising the Law of Attraction and Manifestation 

Positivity really is key in practising manifestation and the Law of Attraction or Cosmic Ordering, as some people prefer to call it.

Whatever it is you’re hoping for in life, you must come from a place of positivity. Raise your vibrations and operate from a good place, and you are far more likely to receive what you are asking for. You also need to believe that you deserve the good things you're asking for and that receiving is possible.

Remember that your request should not be harmful to anyone else - and it shouldn’t interfere with the free will of another person either. But how do you actually ask the Universe for things? There are a few methods, and you can use whichever feels most comfortable to you:

Write It Down

The written word is a powerful thing, and by writing down your desires, you can help manifest them. Simply take a piece of paper, write down what you want, and fold it neatly. Next, you can either keep the note in a safe place, pop it under your pillow, or burn it and release the request into the Universe. There are quite a few writing techniques you can try such as the 55 x 5 method or simply writing yourself a letter with a certain date on to reopen! 

Speak It Aloud

Not everyone feels comfortable with this, especially when they first begin to work on manifestations, but simply saying your request out loud can work wonders. Try closing your eyes and placing a hand over your heart if it feels right. And then just state clearly what you would like help with and what you want to achieve.

Use Thought

Using a more physical method, like those listed above, are often the easiest places to start. As you begin to work with the Law of Attraction more, you can simply use your thoughts to place requests with the Universe. I like to close my eyes and take 5-10 minutes to think and manifest things into place.

Create A Mood Board

If you would like a more physical method to keep reminding yourself about what you're manifesting, why not create a mood board. Mood boards can be cute things to put on your wall or desk to remind yourself of what's to come. You can browse through Pinterest for cute pictures and quotes which mean something to you. I like to frame my mood boards and keep them next to my mirror!

Use Crystals To Amplify Manifestation

Crystals can be a conduit for positive energy, aiding in manifestation. They can aide your manifestation by enhancing your abilities and help to focus your intentions. There are also a lot of natural heeling benefits to crystals which you may find helpful when you're using them. You can select a stone that relates to what you hope to achieve and use it with one of the methods above:

  • Rose Quartz can be used to manifest love.
  • Citrine is useful for manifesting abundance, success and prosperity.
  • Black Obsidian can be used to create change and remove blockages.
  • Pyrite is thought to help with attracting wealth.
  • Amethyst is a gemstone for wisdom and connections with spirit.
  • Clear Quartz is an all-around wonder crystal that can aid with any manifestation.

Top Tips For Manifesting a Better Life

  • Practice gratitude: In your everyday life, be grateful. There are many things to be grateful for, so write them down and appreciate the little things! 
  • Have an open and positive mind: Raise your vibrations and operate from an open and positive place - avoid negative thoughts as much as possible.
  • Be specific: It can be helpful to be specific about what you want to manifest - avoid fluffy and unclear requests.
  • Put a timeframe on it: Time in the spirit realm and in the Universe works a little differently from how it does here on earth. It can be helpful to add a timeframe to your request. For example, I want to find a new job by the end of this November.
  • Visualize the outcome: See yourself enjoying what you’ve asked for - if you can picture it, you’re far more likely to achieve it
  • Trust the process: This takes us back to positivity, but it’s super important you trust that this will actually work. If you let negative or toxic thoughts creep in, it will affect the outcome.
  • Give thanks: When you’ve achieved what you set out to, give thanks to the Universe. And continue to practice gratitude as you move forward on your journey with the Law of Attraction.
